Job description

As the Billing Manager you lead a team of 8 people and you work closely with the Head of Billing. You coach and are the first point of contact for the people in the billing team. Together with the team you ensure a timely and correct invoicing of all services delivered by the company. You are responsible for the billing process for clinical trials, and you coordinate the process with other departments.


Your responsibilities: 

  • Lead and coordinate monthly invoicing, including review of accruals.
  • Assist financial setup of clinical trials and ensure timely financial setup of clinical trials.
  • Timely reporting: BI Dashboards, Revenue reporting, YTD reporting, KPI’s, volume rebates, ad hoc adjustments.
  • Ensure the processes and training documentation is up to date.
  • Assist Head of billing in the implementation of new enhancements and system changes.
  • Proven experience in processes improvement.
  • Supporting the team and role model for team members.
  • Responsible for validation processes.
  • Escalation to billing issues.
  • Working with other finance departments.
  • Review Project Closures & present to head of billing for approval.
  • Maintain budget trackers for Project Review Meetings.
  • Attendance of Project Review meetings and completion of tasks.
  • Production of KPI metrics for Project Management and other departments.
  • Understanding contracts, budget and implications.
  • Updating of MSA/Contracting overview sheet.
  • Working with Proposals & contracts team.
  • Ensure correct communication with Project Managers and others to highlight and investigate anomalies during the billing cycles.
  • Participate in Customer meetings.

Job requirements

You have strong administrative and analytical skills, a hands-on attitude and will apply excellent communication and organizational skills in relation to the billing and revenue recognition process. 


In order to be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Professional bachelor education or equivalent by experience.
  • > 3 years’ experience in a customer-oriented administrative environment.
  • You understand of cash flow and revenue recognition.
  • You have the ability to work towards tight deadlines.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel (macros is an advantage).
  • Good organizational skills, with good time management and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • You enjoy collaborating within the team and with other stakeholders.
  • Good management and people management skills.
  • Openness and willingness to learn, to grow professionally and further develop your career.
  • And you are confident to deal with all internal/external customer at all levels.
